Budget Cuts letter

My name is Esteban Rodriguez and I am a 8th grader at Urban Promise Academy in Oakland C.A. I am writing you because I want to tell you my opinion about budget cut's. Urban Promise Academy needs funding to get new supplies and materials for next year 6th grade students. My education is very important to me because i need to learn new stuff in school to be successful. Please support my education by letting california vote on the tax extension measure. i want people to vote for budget cut's

College Trip Reflection

My experience I had on being on the college's campus is that the building were big and some were small. other experience i had was the stores they had to buy the books. on Santa Barbara they had a beach and they could have surf. on cal poly they had a farm and students can study to farmers. on Santa Cruz they had a beach and fields.

what i liked about the college was that it was really big and was long. what i didn't like about college is that you have to pay a lot's of money to buy books. i maybe will try and apply to some of them. i like the college's and the campus was cool.

expo reflection

My expo went good because the group ask questions. the group ask questions and explain their ideas. the moms were saying their feelins for gangs. and they live near gangs. they are afraid of gangs because they can shoot anywhere and kill sometimes someone else that the didnt want to shoot at. they asked question if any one also lived near gangs and not many of them live near gang. we shared personal experences with gangs

Oppression

My Area of study is defined as gangs. we are learning about what they would do and how they are. The  gangs are oppressive because they always harm people and scare. They’re many organization. They like to get money and sell illegal things. other people are scared of this type of oppression because other gangs come and shoot or kill. The reaction by going and killing some one from the other gang. They get guns and shoot bullets. I don’t have any connections.      

Liberation

our school would be safe without this oppression. Upa students would feel safe st school. if free from the danger of gangs Oakland schools would be liberate and would be safer. We would have less gang experience and hearing gun fires. Our students and teachers would experience joy by not hearing or seeing gangs.

Action Plan

Our school can gain liberation from these forms of oppression by not letting kids into gangs and still go to school. Another way we can reach liberation is not getting involved with gangs. The schools need to teach kids not to join gangs. In order to be liberated the schools can teach people of what kids do after school. The school can incorporate by not being next to gang streets. we must not let kids be in gangs. The school need to watch everyone suspicious that go in the school.

Hello my name is Esteban Rodriguez. I am a student at Urban Promise Academy. I am interested to go to college because it will help me in life after I leave college.

The one word that describe my school community and my family is cool because I like to be there with them and at my community. One opportunities in my school is that the school took the school to different high schools. Another opportunities is we will go to the college for all field trip. A major issue is that I will pay attention in class.

The way i change the issue is i start to pay attention to learn new things everyday. i choose this because it will help me pass the upcoming grades. What college mean to me is that it will be allot hard then the other grades. it connects because somethings are hard and need to work better.

it connects to me because it will help me get a better life. it will get me a good job. it will help me get money to me and my family. then i will have a good education and it will help me when something important will happen.
